Ally Jedrzejek

Ally Jedrzejek is a North Vancouver–based performer, music educator, and an honours graduate of Capilano University’s Jazz Studies program. Before pursuing her degree, she toured across North America and the Caribbean with multiple acts as well as spending over a decade performing in the Greater Toronto Area. She also taught voice at a studio in Milton, Ontario earning a Readers’ Choice Award for vocal instruction in 2021.

At CapU, Ally studied with acclaimed Vancouver musicians including Steve Maddock, Siri Olesen, and Jennifer Scott to name a few. Her training encompassed jazz voice, tonal harmony, ear training, conducting, and performance in jazz ensembles, along with experience in woodwinds, brass, percussion, and choral music. She developed a special interest in ethnomusicology and cross-cultural pedagogy, incorporating Orff Afrique methods into her teaching.

With more than ten years of experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, Ally draws primarily on her jazz studies while adapting to a wide range of styles and genres. Outside the classroom, she continues to perform across North America with tribute bands as well as collaborates with local Vancouver based original projects rooted in soul, R&B, funk, jazz, and folk.
